Can i be sued if the guy who hit me didnt have his license either?

I was pulling out of a private drive and i was heading to whataburger which was a lil to the left, but i was going out straight, i check if any cars were ping by and it was a trail blazer who was about 40 feet away, so i could just go through and then when i start crossing a car that was beside the blazer was speeding beside it so i did not see him, the car stomped on its breaks and skid for a while and i turned left and stepped on the gas to not get hit. the only way i could tell he was speeding was because the trail blazer didnt even hit me, and he skid for a while, im pretty sure you could stop going 40 real easily. But when the officer arrives i said i turned left (not to get hit) but he gave me a ticket for failure to yeild and turning left on a private drive, he misunderstood me, i am 16 and had no driver license but neither did the 28 year old man. i had insureance on the suburban but they didnt cover it, and neither did his, so i am refusing to pay because it was not my fault. and now he wants to sue me for the damages of his car. what should i do? (and i had my girlfriend as a witness)
