Is is a losing proposition to give aid to high birthrate countries?
I was just reading that Ethiopia had a 5 million population in 1900. Now it is 65 million. 8 million of them are getting aid from other countries. Obviously their land cannot sustain them. Isn't it their government's responsibility to educate them in birth control? Of course Ethiopia is not the only country needing aid and with a growing birthrate. Of course they deserve our compion but aren't the rest of the world "enabling" them. Shouldn't they be solving their own population growth problems? Our own countries in the west have poor people with needs too. Should our first responsibility be to them?
